Auditions for Frankenstein, August 12 and 14 at John M. Evans Hall.

Just in time for Halloween, ECT announces a Fall Radio Production of Frankenstein.

Audition now for Evansville Community Theatre’s fall production of “Frankenstein,” a radio play. Auditions are Saturday, August 12 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Monday, August 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. The show is based on the classic novel “Frankenstein” by Mary Wollstencraft Shelley, and adapted for radio theatre by Philip Grecian.

“Frankenstein” tells the chilling tale of a monster created by a bright young scientist, Dr. Victor Frankenstein. The doctor cobbles together a body and, one fateful night, brings it to life. But Dr. Frankenstein is repulsed by his creation–the monster that sets in motion a chain of violence and terror.

This is a staged production of an old time radio show with actors reading from scripts, so no memorization is required. The show features actors portraying multiple roles, sound effects created live, and old timey radios ads written for local sponsors – all performed in front of a live audience.

There are ten vocal roles for adults – six men and four women. A few might do a little singing. No experience is needed – newcomers are welcome! Those auditioning should be prepared to read in different voices.  We’ll be looking for different accents and the ability to create individual characters thru voice while reading multiple roles back to back.

Show dates are just in time for Halloween: October 19, 20, and 21. Auditions and performances are at John M. Evans Hall, 104 W. Main St. in Evansville.

Here’s everything you need to prepare for auditions. Save time by filling out the Audition Form before arriving at auditions.
